It was a blistering summer day on August 10, with the temperature up to 37℃. However, the high temperature cannot be compared to the high enthusiasm of Beijing Aikang Group (“the Group”) in charity and aid. In the morning, the campaign titled “Medical Charity with Love in Chibi” was held in Jinqiao International Hotel of Chibi. On the scene, Dr. Wang Dong, chairman of the Group, announced the donation of RMB 5 million to Chibi Charity Federation, carving a path of medical philanthropy for the people in straitened circumstances by action. Ren Jiangbin (Secretary of Chibi Municipal Party Committee and Director of Chibi NPC Standing Committee), municipal leaders (He Chunde, Yin Junying and Wan Zixian) and the leaders of Chibi Civil Affairs Bureau and Chibi Health and Family Planning Bureau also attended the donation ceremony. In addition, as guests, Dr. Wang Dong, chairman of the Group, Li Wu’er, chief operating officer, Hu Yinlong, chief human resources officer, and Yang Zhiguo, president of Tongjichibi Hospital, Chen Pingping, vice president, Pi Zhijie, director, and Fang Weidian, customer service director, participated in the activity.

As said by Dr. Wang Dong, on the donation ceremony, the Group’s mission is “to create equal medical environment with our love”. The Group has been paying attention to programs for public good and undertaking social responsibilities. We always organiz the staff and the affiliated hospitals to periodically carry out public benefit activities to help vulnerable groups and needy patients out. The donation of RMB 5 million aims to motivate the Group’s staff and warm-hearted people from the society to take an active part in medical philanthropy, carry forward Chinese traditional virtue of helping those in distress and promote the spirit of social mutual aid of “People-oriented, Charity First”.

On the behalf of Chibi Municipal Party Committee and Chibi People’s Government, Ren Jiangbin fully affirmed the donation and extended his heartfelt gratitude and high respect to Dr. Wang Dong. The medical philanthropy project will render the city’s philanthropy and assistance system more standardized and accurate. With the help of Beijing Aikang Group, Chibi City has continuously expanded its scope of philanthropy and assistance, giving full play to charity work which is supplementary to governmental security system and warming the hearts of vulnerable groups in the city. Cheng Jianghai, Secretary of Leading Party Group and Director of Chibi Civil Affairs Bureau, introduced the goals of medical philanthropy fund and its targets and assisting objects and standards on the behalf of Chibi Charity Federation.

The RMB 5 million of medical philanthropy fund is mainly designed to provide charitable relief for the targets of civil services, poverty alleviation families, people suffering poverty caused by diseases and certain special targets collectively identified by Chibi Charity Federation in respect of the self-paying proportions for out-patient examination and hospitalization at Tongjichibi Hospital and its urban branches.
